Cathy Cole Workshops and Coaching

Putting All of the Pieces Together

First 5 San Joaquin is pleased to have Cathy Cole return to San Joaquin County to help providers link the elements of the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and implement effective programs for children and their families. Come join us at one of the workshops as we learn together how child observation, screening, teacher-child interactions (CLASS), program environment (ERS), lesson planning, as well as play experiences are all connected and build an effective quality early care and education program.

Click to see the flyers for registration at one of her workshops:  Implementing an Effective Program or Planning Effective Play Experiences

While Cathy is here, she will also be available to provide no cost, one on one coaching at your family child care home or facility.  Call or email your Raising Quality! Coordinators if you're interested:  Dorene  (209) 468-8141, or dojow@sjgov.org  |  Cathy (209) 953-7223, or csprints@sjgov.org.

IMPACT Expansion Funding - Letter of Interest

Are you looking for a program that would encourage and support continued program quality improvement?  Is your staff looking for scholarship support to continue their education?  How about annual quality awards that could be used to purchase new materials and supplies for eligible programs?  If these types of program enhancements and supports sound interesting, First 5 San Joaquin has exciting news!

Raising Quality! and First 5 San Joaquin have the opportunity to expand IMPACT (Improve and Maximize Programs so All Children Thrive) funding and are accepting applications for the program.

IMPACT is the continuation of the Raising Quality! Race to the Top work designed to support the quality improvement in early care and education programs.  The current IMPACT funding supports 87 sites.  The expansion funds application will be relative to new programs interested in applying for participation. If your program is interested, please CLICK HERE to  complete Letter of Interest Form and submit to First 5 San Joaquin at sjckids@sjgov.org .

If you are a current IMPACT participant and know of a program that might be interested in applying, please feel free to share this opportunity with them.  We appreciate your support and partnership.
